Summary Overview
The Lakewood CBC was successful on Saturday, December 31. While all of the data has not be sent in,
listed below is what was found that day and some information on what has been seen count week. For our
almost 50 participants, to whom I send thanks, we had good or bad weather depending on how you look at
it. Temperatures ranged from 35 to 38 degrees. Overcast all day. Slight drizzle in the morning, rain stopped
fairly early, then later afternoon came heavier rain turning to snow. By the late afternoon rain/snow, no
bird in its right mind seemed to be out ... only the birders, like me (who sometimes are not in their right
mind) were out. Lake Erie was wide open which meant waterbirds, diving ducks and gulls were not
concentrated, thus difficult to find ... can you believe it? It was a challenge. Looking forward to next year!
The chili luncheon was great, adding two birds there - turkey chili and chicken chili.
