Introduction: The objective of this lab was to determine the relationships, if any, between
rotational velocity, rotational acceleration radius of a revolving object. We achieved this through
the use of a spinning apparatus, a dual-range force sensor, several 100 gram masses, a
photogate, and a LabQuest 2. We rotated the apparatus multiple times, keeping the mass
constant while changing the radius of the circle formed by the motion of the masses (the
distance between the masses and the pole upon which they spun). We recorded the data
provided by the force sensor and the photogate via our LabQuest 2. The graphs of that data are
as follows:
Conclusion: As you can see from the graph, we noted that as the rotational velocity increased,

as the acceleration increased. We also saw an increase in acceleration as the radius increased
in length. Margins of error: There couldve been problems with the LabQuest.
