I will provide a safe environment for clients, other healthcare workers, and myself
I will be respectful to residents and assess their daily needs I will access and read the best practice guidelines on the CNO and RPNAO websites
I will be able to ask the advice of my clinical instructors on the best way develop safe and trusted nurse-patient
relationships
I will become aware of the residents cultural and religious practices to be able to make sure they are getting the
appropriate care for their lifestyle, and abilities or limitations
I will encourage clients to ask questions and make sure they are comfortable trusting and opening up to me as a nurse

I will be able to tell when patients are comfortable with

I will seek clarification from professors and clinical organizers when I am unclear of a task that is given to me
Being knowledgeable and conscious of my scope of practice and what is expected of me
I will not assume that something is correct without first looking into it and will not perform a task without feeling
.100% comfortable with my abilities
I will utilize the available resources that are provided by the RPNAO and CNO websites and research skills that are shown
in the Canadian Fundamentals of Nursing book by Potter and
Perry and other textbooks from nursing courses
I will use self-reflection as a resource to identify skills that I do not yet feel comfortable performing without the
supervision of my clinical instructor
I will always check doctor's orders in accurate manner and study potential outcomes for my clients

I will know I have achieved my goal when I am
