substitute the love he has for her. Olivia does not want to
marry anyone at this time because she in mourning over her
brother.

Viola (Cesario) approaches Olivia's gate. He tells Maria that he

will not leave to until he has spoken with Olivia. Maria hurries
to tell Olivia, and Olivia grows annoyed because she doesn't
want anyone courting her... After a while, she finally lets
Cesario through the gate.

A young woman named Viola was ship wrecked and washed up on the shore
of Illyria, because of how damaging the wreck was Viola believes her twin
brother is dead. A polite captain named Antonio who sees Viola in her
struggle told her about Orsino courtship of Olivia. Viola wished she could
work in Olivia's home but Olivia is not fond of strangers. Viola poses as a
male, and names herself Cesario and heads to Orsino's house.

Olivia let Cesario through the gate, and he began to express Orsino's
love for Olivia. Olivia replied that she could never love him, and that
Cesario needed to leave to go tell him what she said. Olivia became
infactuated with Cesario and told Malvolio that Cesario had left his
ring and that he should be coming back for it after he told Orsino
what she said.

my love to
Olivia!

Cesario reaches out to Orsino, and Orsino tells him to go tell

Olivia about how much he loves her. Cesario races to Olivia's
house and is stopped at the gate.

Olivia sent me
to give you the
ring you left in
her house, here
it is.

I am sure I
did not
leave a ring.

Malvolio finds Cesario and attempts to give him the ring that
Olivia claims he left at her house during his visit. Cesario was
confused and knew he did not leave a ring there... he began to
think and he realizes Olivia has feelings for him.
