Post-Lesson Reflection
To take a break from the
performance we are working
very hard on, we celebrated leap
day. I had my students create
dances where leaps, of any kind,
were the focus. I was amazed by
their creativity and willingness.
This was also a good lesson
because many of my students
didnt even know what a Leap
Year was.
Tody was our first day on stage
and I was shocked to see the
quality of work I had in the
studio, had decreased
dramatically. I was very
disappointed in the energy and
the performance my students
showed. We had a group
conversation about how just
because we are on a stage, our
intensity should not change.
Today was much better. The
quality I expected was shown
and the students seemed really
involved in the dance.
