4. A series RLC circuit with L=100mH, C=80F and R=50 is connected to a sinusoidal
voltage V(t)=50Vsin(t) with =150 rad/s. Is the circuit inductive or capacitive? Give
reason(s) for your answer.
5. Consider the circuit shown below. Calculate the maximum voltage across points M and
N.
6. In Question No.5, is maximum voltage of the generator equal to the summation of maximum voltages across the resistor, inductor and capacitor. Give reason(s) for your answer.
7. A sinusoidal voltage V(t)=100Vsin(t) is applied to a series RLC circuit with L=10mH,
C=50nF and R=50. Find the amplitude of the voltage across the inductor at the
resonant frequency.
8. Find the current i(t) for t>0. Given R=1 , C= 1 F and a step input is applied as shown
in figure. Assume initial conditions to be zero.
9. Find the voltage across the inductor for the given network.
10. For the given network, switch S is initially opened for the long time. It is closed at t=0.
Find the current at t = 0+ and rate of increase and decrease of current.
11. When the steady state is reached, switch S is opened. At t=0, switch S is cloased. Find
the initial value of current throught he inductor as shown in figure.
12. What should be the value of Cx such that the equivalent capacitance of the circuit gets
charged to 1 volts in 1 seconds.
13. In the figure shown, switch S is kept at position 1 and steady state is reached. At t=0,
switch is moved to 2. Find the current in the two cases
