California.FormanyyearsnowIhavebeeninterestedingoingtoCogswellPolytechnical
College.Iknowandfeelthatthiswillbethebestopportunityformetoachievemydreamsand
goalsinreceivingatopofthelineeducationinbecomingacomputerprogrammer.IhopethatI
canacquiremyDegreeinComputerSciencesatCogswell.
IhavebeenfascinatedaboutcomputerssinceIwasveryyoung.Thecomplexityand
thetechnologyonhowtheyoperateisgenius.Ihavecreatedandprogrammedgamesand
smallapplicationsforseveralyears.Thishelpedmegrasphowcomputersworkandhowtouse
theminadvanceways.Iamexceptionallyskilledattheunderstandingofhowanycomputer
softwareorhardwareworks.Ipracticallyknoweverythingthatthereistoknowabout
computers.MyhighschoolthatIattendusesChromebooklaptops.Therearenotextbooksof
anykind.Mytypingspeedisaboveaverageofmosthighschoolstudents.Thisisagreat
benefitformesinceImaprogrammer.Itmakesmeveryproductiveandalsoquickwithmy
work.Icantypefastcreatinglittletonoerrorsorflawsinmyprograms.Iamalsoanexcellent
criticalthinker.IamalwaysthinkingaboutwhatIamwritingformyprogramsandwhatmethods
Ishoulduse.Ihaveusedmanyprogramminglanguages.Ihavetaughtmyselfhowtowrite
them.Theselanguageswouldbe:Python,Lua,C++,C#,andSQL.Programminghasbeenso
addicting.Itofferssomuchpowertotheindividualandthepossibilitiesareendless.Thisiswhy

Ifellinlovewithprogramming.Thereissomuchcriticalthinkingandproblemsolvinginvolved,
thatitcanbeveryexhilaratingwhenyouhavesolvedaproblemthatwasverycomplexand
difficulttofigureout.ThisiswhyImsointerestedincomputersandprogramming,itopensa
doortoinfinitepossibilities.
Ihavewonmanyawardsinhighschool,theseawardswouldbe:ThePresidentialaward,
HighGPAaward,CyberPatriotaward,andalsoTheSpiritoftheGauchoawardintechnology.
TheclassesItookinhighschoolhavegreatlyhelpedmeinunderstandingofhowcomputers
workandhowtoprogram.TheseclassesItookwere:ComputerGraphics13,Computer
Programming,ComputerScience,DigitalMediaProduction,andVirtualEnterprises.The
knowledgethatIhaveobtainedfromhighschoolandlearningbymyselfwillgreatlybenefitme
atCogswellPolytechnicalCollege.
WhenIwasdoingmyresearchontechnologycollegesandwhereIwantedtofurthermy
educationafterhighschool,Istumbledacrossthisgem,CogswellPolytechnicalCollege.
Cogswellisa4yearcollegethatofferseverythingthatIwasinterestedinandwhatIhada
passionfor.ThiswasthecollegeIneededtoattend,andthegatewaytomyfuturecareer.IfI
couldattendCogswell,Iwouldbeanoutstandingprogrammer.Iwouldalreadyhaveknowledge
ofprogramming,sinceIhavetakenmanyclassesatmyhighschoolandIhavealsoenrolledin
CogswellsthispastsummerintheIntroductiontoPythoncoursethattheschoolhadoffered.
Iwouldbeabletopursuemypassionandworkwithandcollaboratewithteamsonprojects,
whichwouldbeahonor.IwouldbeanadvanceprogrammerandbeatthetopofmygameifI
attendCogswell.
IlookforwardtohavingtheopportunitytoattendCogswellPolytechnicalCollegeinthe
fallof2016.IintendonbeingacomputerprogrammerandobtainmyBachelorsDegreein
ComputerScienceatthisfinecollege.MyobjectiveistograduatefromCogswellwithagood

attitudeforprogramming,aloveoftechnologyandanexcellenteducationalongwithacareer
asacomputerprogrammer.Withoutthiscollege,Iwouldntbeabletopursueandcompletemy
goalsanddreams.ThisiswhyIwouldlovetoattendCogswellPolytechnicalCollege.Ibelieve
thatIcanachievemymaximumpotentialasaprogrammerthroughhardwork,determination,
andatopofthelineeducationfromCogswell.IhopethatIwillbeconsideredasagreat
candidateforanyscholarshipthatIameligiblefor.Thankyouforyourtimeandattention.If
