January 6, 2016 To Whom It May Concern: I am honored to have the opportunity to write this letter of recommendation in support of my student, Courtney Mognis. I have known Courtney and her family for many years, but I feel very fortunate this year to have Courtney as a student in my Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition class at Merced High School. It has been both my pleasure and privilege to witness her incredible growth and development, academically and personally and it is with much sincerity that I write this letter on her behalf. Throughout the years I have known her, Courtney has proven to be an extraordinary young woman. She is intelligent and respectful and carries herself with integrity and determination. Academically, she has continued to challenge herself by enrolling in many Advanced Placement or Honors classes throughout her four years, and proving that she could excel in all of them. She currently has an impressive grade point average of 4.6! Courtneys exceptional academic record has enabled her to be a part of the California Scholarship Federation. Plus, she has been recognized other honors such as speaking at Relay For Life and participating in a foreign exchange program to Japan with Lions Club International. She is clearly a dedicated student and individual. In addition to Courtneys excellent academic accomplishments, she has been actively involved in extra-curricular activities on campus including clubs and athletics. Courtney has been an Academic Mentor, and currently is an integral part of the Merced High Key Club and Link Crew in which she tutors and mentors the freshmen on campus in order to ease their transition into high school. In addition to these activities, she has also been a member of the JV girls water polo and aquatics teams. Another impressive attribute is definitely her dedication and the initiative in community service work. Courtney has volunteered hundreds of hours of her time and energy in our school and community, including club-sponsored activities and serving as a youth leader for her church. Courtneys academic achievement, work ethic, community service, and strong personal attributes undoubtedly account for her continued success. I recommend Courtney with absolute confidence. She knows the importance of education and the reward of strong personal character. I have known Courtney for a long time and she is an outstanding young woman who despite any challenges or adversities she may face, continues to persevere and be successful. She has set extensive educational and career goals and I have no doubt that Courtney will continue to rise to any challenge that she faces in college and beyond. Overall, her excellent qualities will remain with her and continue to make her successful in all of her future endeavors. It has sincerely been a pleasure for me to know Courtney and be her teacher. I highly and enthusiastically recommend her. Sincerely,
