Ethical Responsibilities to Children
First of all, I make a commitment to continue taking classes of Early Childhood Education and
attending trainings to keep being informed of any new information that are related to children
development and growth. Secondly, to show respect to uniqueness of childrens skills and
abilities and try to learn about them, and help children to use these skills to develop
appropriately. For example, if I have a bilingual child, then I will keep trying to learn some
words of his native language to encourage him to participate well in the classroom. Thirdly, to
create and maintain safe and healthy settings for children that foster their development such as
keep cleaning and sanitizing toys and taking away any hazards. Finally, to keep using
assessments results to implement instructions and lesson plans that help children to reach their
full potential and respect the right of each child to learn and play in an inclusive environment
with providing accommodations to the children who need them.
Ethical Responsibilities to Families
First of all, I make a commitment to continue building relationships that are based on trust and
respect with the childrens families by including them in the learning process of their children
and keep informing them about their childrens development, needs and behaviors. Secondly, to
keep listening to the families and keep being acknowledge about any changes that are related to
childrens behaviors or health such as food allergies. Thirdly, to show respect to the families
preferences and learn about their religions, cultures, languages and beliefs. Fourthly, to
understand that families have the right to make decisions for their childrens learning and
participation such as choosing if their child should celebrate special events with other children or
not. Finally, to support the families understanding of their childrens development and provide
them with resources of different information that are related to their growth and learning such as
the hours that the child needs to sleep during the day in order for his brain to develop actively
through the day.
possible programs of care and education for children and to conduct myself of honesty and
integrity. For example, developing lesson plans of subjects that children need to learn about like
lessons that enhance the childrens social and emotional skills such as taking turns.
Individual
I make a commitment to communicate openly and truthfully about the nature and extent
of services that my program provides. For example, the hours of our snacks with posting
a paper of our weekly snacks contents on the wall. Secondly, to not recommend any
person for employment who his competence, qualifications or character do not make him
suited for the position like the people who have criminal records and are not allowed to
work with children. Thirdly, to acknowledge about the appropriate use of assessment
strategies and interpret results accurately to families like ASQs that are done in
classrooms by teachers. Finally, to be familiar with laws and regulations that protect the
children in our program and following them like the specific ratio of children in each
classroom.
Collective
I make a commitment to promote cooperation among professionals and agencies
concerned with addressing issues in the health, education, and well-being of young
children, their families and their early childhood educators. For example, cooperating
with Smart Support Program that gives feedback about how to deal with childrens
emotional and behavioral issues. Secondly, to work through education, research and
advocacy toward a society in which all children can access to high-quality early care and
education programs. For example, reading the IEP of special needs children and
implement activities that help them to develop the skills that they need to reach their full
potential. Finally, to promote knowledge and understanding of childrens needs like
personal care such as posting the steps of changing diapers according to the Quality
Firsts rules.
