What Is Bullying
Bullying Is:
Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior that involves a real or
perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the
potential to be repeated, over time.
Types of Bullying:
1.Harassment & Intimidation:
Any act that substantially interferes with a students educational benefits, opportunities
or performances and:
If the act takes place on school grounds, at any school-sponsored activity, on
school-provided equipment or transportation or at any official school bus stop that has the
effect of:
Physically harming a student or damaging a student's property;
Knowingly placing a student or students in reasonable fear of physical harm to the
student(s) or damage to the students or students property; or
Causing emotional distress to a student(s) or
Creating a hostile educational environment
Cyberbullying:
Bullying that creates a hostile educational environment or otherwise creating a
substantial disruption to the educational environment or learning process.
Hazing:
Any intentional or reckless act, on or off school system property, by one student acting
alone or with others, directed against any other student, that endangers the mental or
physical health or safety of that student or that induces or coerces a student to endanger
the students mental or physical health or safety.
Hazing does not include athletic events or similar contests or competitions and is limited
to those actions taken and situations created in connection with initiation into or affiliation
with any organization

What Is Conflict?
Conflict Is:
Conflict is a normal part of life. Conflict can be a disagreement,
misunderstanding, or argument. Learning how to effectively deal with
conflict is an important aspect in your social development.

Try to keep an open-mind when doing soits ok to admit when you are wrong
When talking things out just involve yourself and the person you're having conflict
with

Bullying:
1. A person being targeted is, weaker
than the attractor (e.g. less friends,
smaller, younger, has a disability
Conflict:
1. All individuals involved are equal in
power
Scenarios
Two female members of the school basketball team are arguing with
each other over the loss of a recent game. One of the girls is blaming
the other for letting the opposing team knock the ball out of her hands
before she could throw it. The other girl is saying its her teammate's
fault because she didnt pass the ball to her during the last few seconds
of the game. They continue to fight until their coach gets involved and
tells the girls to stop arguing.
Scenarios
The person in the locker next to you has been bumping into you for the
past 4 days. You are very annoyed and yell at them. You are mad
because they must be doing this on purpose.
Scenarios
Jennifer and Stephanie have kept a notebook all year writing about
everything they do to Sarah and it was turned into Mr. Bob. Jennifer
blames Stephanie for their consequences.
Scenarios
Ben has been stealing Zaks lunch money for a month now. Ben told Zak
if he told anyone he would harm Zaks younger brother.
Scenarios
Evan and Josh dont get along and they have been making comments
about each other in class all year. Evan got fed up and pushed Josh in
the hallway.
