Overview of Long-term planning

Overview of the five-week period
(usually 4 classes per 9 day cycle)
LES: In Black Ink
During this unit, the students will work and learn about different historical black people as well as important events during
slavery.
Main goals:
Getting the students to become more aware of important people in black history while practicing writing speaking and
understanding. By the end of this unit, ss. Will be able to describe and answer questions on a specific person.
Reinvestment task/Final Task? Students will become experts in one particular historical black person (or an important
person in black history) and share it with their peers. They will also be able to write a biography of that person.
