First Of all I chose the name of my Application, I called it Cinema/Gallery because that Is what I'm
basically building. Next I had to put the address of my site, but in my case there wasnt a set
address that I could find so instead I went to a site called grid-reference-finder which gave me the
Easting and Northing grid references which i inserted in the boxes. Finally I chose the application
type which was Listed Building Consent.

1.3.4 carry out a feasibility

results
3.2.2 validate the design
against the brief using a

3.2.3 ensure that the project
complies with building
regulations as it progresses
4.1.2 explain how well final
outcomes meet original
intentions
4.1.3 evaluate feedback and
use it as a basis for
improvements in future
projects

Issues/ challenges with site:

The issues I encountered with this site was there is a river really close to the site which makes
construction really hard so I had to put in mind that I had to make things which made river crack or
overflow not possible to happen because that would cause a lot of water damage to the site.

Possible solutions:
The solutions I chose was to stay 2.5 meters away from the river wall to make SURE that we didnt
trigger a river to spill or damage anything.

Summary of suitability:
The first building was like no other building. It was boring and all around not sustainable and heres
why. Basically It was square and didnt use any kind of solar panels or water collector which meant
that the school would have to pay for a load of eletricity and water which would cost them a
fortune. The building also had lots and lots of space which wasnt nessacary because it looked
awful and because the space was bigger it meant the school had to be bigger which in all terms
meant that the school was going to cost a fortune. Also because of the size the maintenance the
school would have to go through if something bad would occur would be huge and would make the
place un-useable in many different ways.

Summary of suitability:
The design I went through with was a much better design as in there was much more sustainable
features and If something did break It wouldnt cost them a fortune to fix. The sustainable parts of
the building include around 10 solar panels on the roof, this is a really big thing to pay for in the
beginning because 10 solar panels are not cheap, but I thought in the long run we can if we
needed to also sell extra electricity off the either the council or our business around us. There will
be also a water collector on top of the roof which will collect enough water for toilets and enough
to water the plants. I also went through with this idea because of the massive front glass
window/wall which brings in a lot of natural light to the whole entire building which is good
because this means there is no need for that much electricity to be used.

Lighting

building design helps
minimise energy use.

of the completed project
1.4.6 take account of

Lighting
Summary:
The lighting that I have chose for my building are all good for what they are being used for, for example the
wall lighting on the cinema I need for just lighting the way and making sure people can just see enough to know what
there doing in the cinema so they dont fall. All of the lighting I have chose are really quite friendly and will also look
good for the buildings initial design.
