ROUGH DRAFT
INTRODUCTION
The term export means shipping in the goods and services out of the jurisdiction of a country.
The seller of such goods and services is referred to as an "exporter" and is based in the country
of export whereas the overseas based buyer is referred to as an "importer". Customs clearance
formalities for goods meant for export have to be fulfilled by presenting a Shipping Bill and
other related documents. These documents are verified for correctness of assessment and after
examination of the goods, if warranted, Let Export Order is given on the Shipping Bill.
Categories of Export
Freely Exportable Goods - These goods are free to export and are exported under OGL or Open
GeneralLicense
Negative List Of Exports - These goods are not permitted to be exported outside the country
Restricted/Licensed Exports - These goods are not permitted to export without any license.
Procedure
The export officials are intimated for the export of a cargo from factory
An empty container is picked from the container yard and is transported to the factory for
loading
