To whom it may concern,

Since I was a child, my father, a design engineer in your department, told me about his job
contributing to designing cars and his love for his job. I have always been interested in what he
does but once I began my education at a university, and took a Computer Aided Drafting class
doing what he does, I truly understood why he loves his job. Im pursuing a Mechanical
Engineering degree directed toward computer aided drafting. I enjoy working on the computer
designing projects more than I thought I would. I can definitely see myself in a career involving
computer aided drafting.

I see myself as a self-motivating person who can produce quality work in a set amount of time. I
can stick to a time line and turn work in on time without last minute rushing around. I have
computer skills with KITIA and NX 9.0, as well as Solid Works. I can learn a new program
quickly and understand what needs to be done for a job.

As you can see, a letter and resume doesnt accurately represent my skills and abilities. I will
follow up with your department in hopes that you will grant me an interview. I look forward to

Chrysler Creative Designer Job

The Automotive Designer is responsible for creating both production and

advanced exterior and/or interior design proposals while demonstrating
exceptional design intuition, strong presentation and design communication
skills. Design assignments will range from complete exterior bodies to
singular components such as front/rear end designs, wheels, exterior
lighting and graphics/badging. Interior design assignments will range from
complete interior compartments to singular components such as instrument
panels, door panels, center consoles, steering wheels, hard trim, seats and
gauge clusters.
Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, or BS in Industrial,
Product, or Automotive Design
Working knowledge of Alias, Illustrator, and Photoshop
Ability to create both production and advanced design proposals
while demonstrating exceptional design intuition
Ability to artistically represent 2-D and 3-D concepts using a wide
variety of presentation techniques, including manual/digital sketching,
ALIAS, Photoshop and/or similar programs
Experience with manual and digital sketching
Ability to work with a project team of technical engineers, clay
sculptors and fabrication specialists is preferred
Strong presentation and design communication skills

 Must possess an exceptional awareness of the global state of

automotive design concepts and emerging design trends
Must submit portfolio along with application to be considered a viable
candidate for the position
