Arai Keerai
Venthaya Keerai(Methi leaves)
Kariveapilai(Curry leaves)
Ponnanganni(Amarnath)
Karisalanganni(Bringraj)
Omavalli (this is a strong smelling leaf used in treating cold,cough,etc

Wash the greens clean and pat them dry. Grind them with two tsp of water in mixi
e.
Mix the coconut oil and the ground greens paste in a kadai- preferably an iron k
adai. Boil in sim till the sound from the water in the greens paste evaporating
subsides to a minimum.
Do not wait till the greens turn black. When they are still a shade of green, yo
u will see that the oil also has turned green. Remove the pan from heat at this
point.
Keep the oil with the greens in it for two or three days, then filter it into a
clean and dry bottle. Now mix in 50 ml Castor oil(Vilakennai)to this and store.
Vettiver can be used in this oil.The oil will have a great smell and color and n
ourishes hair growth.
The benefits of the greens used in this oil are :
Arai Keerai and Curry Leaves are rich in iron and help in Hair Growth and also a
void premature graying of hair.
Curry Leaves - Makes the oil non-sticky (so that our generation today would love
to use it), makes the hair black and shiny, helps in hair growth
Venthaya Keerai (methi leaves) - Gives required moisture and conditioning to the
scalp and hair, Gives a wonderful shine and gloss to the hair, Clears dandruff
and also gives coldness and relaxation to the body.
Oma Valli - Clears any scalp problems if present, protects the body from any bad
effects of over-cooling that might arise because of Venthaya Keerai, Anti-septi
c and Anti-biotic.
