Shaping concept
What?
First we grouped by a simple game was about moving by speeds from
0-5 then make groups. By listening to the instructor numbers from 1-5
or freeze. We did shapes like HCT by 5 students using only bodies and
specially using hands. Then we shaped a Ferrari car, towers of RAK,
beach and zoo which we added sounds effects to it.

How?
For example; the zoo shape were a buildup idea from one to make a
tiger and a monkey into two cages but we suggested to have a child
who talk to her mother about the tiger who's moving around inside the
cage wanting to get off and bite the child. We use hands movements to
make the cage and a student was jumping and makes a monkey sound
and another girl was making angry expression as a tiger. Besides, we
were using different sounds effects to copy the animals sounds.

Why?
Its an opportunity to make students communicate with each other, get
rid of shyness and build up confidence for them. In addition, it will help
the students to share what they have of ideas and thinking of their
surroundings. Moreover, this activity will help the students apply what
they learned of animals sounds, names and movements from the
concept and memorize it better.

Voice Exercise
What?
All the students stood in a circle with the instructor and tried some
sounds to get the differences between voices and breathe sounds.
Then we did a plosives activity which is sounds that made by
exploding the sound. Breath sounds that we use are P, T and K while
voice sounds were B, D and G. The sounds of P and B are made
when the lips closed then opened while the sounds of T and D are
done with the tip of the tongue and the roof of the mouth. At last,
the K and G sound are made by hitting the middle of the tongue into
the top of the mouth.
After that, we tried tone through vowels when we used the
sounds Mee, May, Mah, Moh and Mee. Later we tried to say
the five of them with clapping then we tried it with saying it with the
opposite like; Mee, May, Mah, Moh, Mee, Mee, Moh,
Mah, May, Mee.

How?
The activity was done in a large group (the whole class) as a circle
setting arrangement by the teacher leading the class. The instructor or
the teacher give an explanation of the activity, say the sounds or write
it (for young children) and the group will repeated or echoed the sound.

Why?

Since this activity could be a big help for the students who have sound
or speech problems which will help them pronounce and train
themselves to the difficult sounds to them. Moreover, this activity could
help to identify the differences and tell between some vowels and
consonants. At last, its an dynamic method to warm up students
voices and engaging them to the class (it could be for rhythms or
singing classes).

Storytelling
What?
We tried two types of storytelling during the class which are
word at a time story and line at a time story. The students were
setting into two circles, out and inside. A trip to Dubai is the word
at a time story title that the students in the inside circle did. For the
outer circle, it was about a camping at the beach. The story was
been told by a word by each person.
The second type was the line at a time story have been
done with the same arrangement of setting (outer and insider
circle). The stories have been told by telling a line from each
student. The first story was about a trip to the zoo while the second
story was about cooking for a family meal.

How?
The teacher and the students choose a story title or idea to begin with.
The students thought about the story as the story was went along.
Each student added a part which changes the actions or the events of

the story. The stories should have a process of beginning, middling and
an ending.

Why?
We did this to develop the students storytelling, confidence and social
skills. In addition, it could help the students with learning about the
process that the stories have which will make them write beautiful
stories with their colleagues or their own. In addition, I would do this
activity with young children to work on their abilities, critical thinking
and let them improve their imagination.

Buzz, Beep, Boing and Reflector

What?
Students were standing in a circle by the teacher instruction and sent
singles and hands claps towards the next students to them saying
Buzz. After the teacher example, the students started to practice with
the students using the Buzz. Then we learned about Beep a signal
used when students change their direction so instead of the direction
from right to left it will be left to right. We practice it until the students
understand it. After that we used Boing which send a signal across
the circle and Reflector to discard the Boing signal that was
directed to.

How?

The teacher guides the students with the instructions about the
activity. The students will listen and copy what the teacher do to
understand well. Moreover, the students will do the activity movements
and do it through doing or over kinesthetic means.

Why?
This activity could help students with improving their mental and
kinesthetic skills. Moreover, it could be a breaking ice for the starting of
the lesson to make the students more refreshment and active to the
class. For last, students could be friendlier with their classmates since
they will get rid of their shyness and cooperate with each other.

Captain said
What?
The teacher take a role of a captain who give orders and the students
should do it only if they listen the word Captain said. The orders are
like; raise the flag, go to the port everyone ear, etc. Then we tried the
zoo keeper said.

How?

The teacher makes instructions about the game and makes an example
first with students. If the instructor didnt say the word said the
students shouldnt move. The students who were moved should be out
the game and sit down. The teacher could make the student who wins
to be the leader and be the captain.

Why?
This activity introduce new words and to give the students language
that they have as a key terms. In addition, its help students to
understand the rules and follow it well. At last, we could use this
activity to manage the classroom and reduce the active of the
students.

A-Z game line story

What?
We stand in one circle with the teacher. The teacher for example will
said the word Andy then the next student will say another word to

complete the story that starting with the letter B for example; Behind.
The next student will say a word with the letter C. Each student will
have a letter to start with his word until they reached the letter Z.

How?
In a circle setting arrangement, the teacher will explain the activity for
the students. The teacher will start with the letter A then the next
student will completer with a word that starts with the letter B. All the
students will participate since each one will have a letter. Each student
could have more than one letter if the total number of the students was
less than the alphabetic letters numbers.

Why?
For doing a story starting using letters could help the students to
develop their using of words and recognize the alphabetic letters easily
if they were young. Furthermore, this activity could help to refresh
students thinking and break the ice of the class mood.
