The play follows Sherlock Holmes and his comrade Dr. John Watson as they investigate a mysterious curse
of the Baskervilles. Sir Henry Baskerville has recently inherited his familys estate because his last relative
has recently passed away due to the curse that was placed on their family. As Sir Henry returns to his family

Content / CM / Meaning? / Theme(s)?

A constant theme throughout this play is to never base your judgement off of what people may seem to be.
Throughout the play, many characters are not who they make themselves out to be. Sometimes the characters
make rash decisions based off of what they believe. Although many characters portray themselves as helpless
victims, they might be the true mastermind behind everything. Similar to the play, in life we never truly
know what other people think. Therefore, we should never be too quick to make accusations towards people
or completely believe everything people say.

Form (Diction? Construction Terms? Symbolism?) This section MUST be filled out for poems taken from the AP Poetry
packet provided prior to first library visit.

The play used many props and special effects to bring the plot to life. The set was also quite spectacular
because it made the audience feel as if we were in the world of Sherlock Holmes. In addition, the accents that
were portrayed were also done very well.

Commentary: Why like? Poetic Traits? Relevance / Connections / Allusions (Lit, Bib, Myth, Histor, Other) / Relevance
to personal experience, 20Qs? etc.)?

As a fan of mysteries, I thought this play was very entertaining. It made the audience wonder who the true
killer was and constantly captured the audiences interest. In addition, the play was quite funny. The jokes
that were made were quick and entertaining. I would consider this play poetic because the acting was superb
and the big reveal at the end was quite amazing.
