Compound words

Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

I will say for the students lets do some exercises before starting the lesson
the student will engage with me then, I will introduce the lesson by using
video. Then, I will ask them to explore the compound words after that, I will
explain the compound words and give them example Also, I will extend the
lesson by doing some activities.
Guided Experience (group working with the teacher)
Reading activity: ( whole class induvial work )
Student book

Objective:
1 This activity helps students to memorize the words.
Material:
Student book
Instruction:
I will ask them to open the book and start to underline the compound words in
it.

Independent Experience (small group activity 1)


Reading activity:

Low level: read and highlight the compound words (group work).

Materials:
A3 paper ( text)

Instruction:
Students will have A3 paper (text ) and highlight they will read the text and sta
to find the compound words then they will highlight it.
Why?
I chose this activity for low levels because its simple for them.
Objective:
The student will be able to read the text and find the compound words.
Independent Experience(small group activity 2)
Reading activity:

Middle level: put the compound words in the sentence(group work).


Materials:
Paper ( words )
Pencil
Instruction:
Students will paper and pencil then they will put each compound words in the
sentence .
Why?
I chose this activity for middle levels because I want to challenge them.
Objective:
The student will be able to write sentence by using compound words.
Independent Experience(small group activity 3)
Reading & writing activity:

High level: write story (group work).


Materials:
Paper
Pencil
Instruction:
Students will have paper and pencil then they will write short story with using
compound nouns in it.
Why?
I chose this activity for high levels because I want to challenge them
Objective:
The student will be able to write simple story by using compound words.

Reflection WWW/EBI

It was a different lesson because it was last day to teach. The lesson was
about compound words. The teacher gave me only 15 minutes because she
taught them before this lesson then she told me to focus on differentiation
activity and ignore another activity then I gave each group different activity
and I saw all student were working then I reviewed the lesson with them. I
think the activity time was well also, the management was good, but I think
even better I have extra time to teach them.
Next Steps in learning and teaching

My next steps are in future to focus on differentiation activity also, to


prepare different activity also, to change the grade and to use different
strategies for classroom behavior.
