o Use linking words and phrases (e.g., also, another, and, more, but) to connect
ideas within categories of information.
o Provide a concluding statement or section. (3.W.2)
Determine the main ideas and supporting details of a text read aloud or information
presented in diverse media and formats, including visually, quantitatively, and orally.

Objective (Explicit):
o SWBAT determine the main idea of a text by explaining how the detail supports the
main idea.

Include a copy of the lesson assessment.
Provide exemplar student responses with the level of detail you expect to see.
Assign value to each portion of the response

100% of students will be able determine the main idea of a text with 90% out of 100%
accuracy.

Nicholas- will need to be grouped with someone who can keep him on task and
redirect him when he is having difficulties staying on task.
Dylan- will need someone to also be with someone who is welling to help him stay on
task when he gets distracted.
