Artmaking Materials Needed:
14 sheets of 12x12 inch aluminum foil
Scissors (14)
Permanent Markers (14)
Rulers (14)
Procedures:
Day 1:
o Introduction: Good Morning Everybody! Today were going to learn about Yoga and
how to make Aluminum Foil sculptures!
o Bring up PowerPoint and begin discussing lesson
Day 2:
o
INTRODUCTION: (3 minutes)
Good Morning Class! Today we will start making our human sculptures out of
aluminum foil! Everyone partner up!
Brief Discussion of first lesson: (5 minutes)
Does anyone remember what we went through in our last class?
Can anyone tell me how to make a human sculpture out of aluminum foil?
Discuss process of making human sculpture to refresh memory.
DESIGN/WORK SESSION: (35 minutes)
o Everyone will be getting with a partner and making human sculptures of one
another.
o [Student Name] Can you please pass out 1 sheet of aluminum foil to each
classmate?
o {Student Name] Can you please pass out a pair of scissors, ruler, and a
permanent marker to each classmate?
o Students will work on human sculptures during most of class period. Each
student will have about 13 minutes to get the right gesture of their partner
using the aluminum foil
o Teacher gives 3 minute time warning for each group of students so they know
when to switch
CLEAN UP: (2 minutes)
o Make sure names are on sculptures (using a piece of paper and putting it
underneath their sculptures) and leave them on you desks
o Student collects scissors
o Student collects rulers
o Student collects permanent markers
CLOSURE: (3 minutes)
o What did you learn about aluminum foil today that you didnt know before?
o What might be some possible disadvantages of working with aluminum foil?
o What yoga pose did you use for your partner to make?
ASSESSMENT: [separate from class time]
