takesmotivation.Intheplay,AMidsummerNightsDreambyWilliamShakespearerevealsa
quarrelbetweenfourloversinwhichbecomesentangledwithafightbetweentheKingand
Queenofthefairiesandsomelowerclassmenwhoarerehearsingforaplayfortheweddingof
theDukeofAthens.However,inthemidstoftheclashesoflove,Lysander,oneofthefourlovers
expressesthat,Thecourseoftrueloveneverdidrunsmooth.AndLysanderiscorrect.Infact
findingloveislikedrivingonefallsinintopotholes,crashesintoothercars,getsaflattire,and
hasnogasinthemiddleofnowhere,yetthepathalwaysleadstosomewhere.Wheninpursuing
truelove,therewillbealwaysadestination,despitethefewbumpsintheroad.

ARoadblock

wayoftruelove.However,indespiteoftheAthenianlaw,HermiaandLysanderwantedto
elopeHermiasfather,Egeus,wascompletelyagainstthemarriageofLysanderandHermia.

Assheismine,Imaydisposeofher,WhichshallbeeithertothisgentlemanOrtoher
death(ActI,Sc.I).EgeusisthestandinginbetweentheloveofHermiaandLysander.Heis
forcingHermiatoloveandmarrythewrongperson.Itssimplyaninjusticeoflove.For
Egeus,itseitherDemetriusordeath.ButhowcanHermiadecidewhenherfatherwantsto
controleverything.Noonecancontroleverythingnothingisabsolute.Thus,Egeusisacting
likearoadblockhedirectseveryoneinonedirection.HethinksbecauseHermiaishis
daughter,hegetstodecideeverythinginherlife,evenherlovelife.Butlovedoesntwork
thatway.Itcantbeforceduponithappensnaturally.Inessence,lovecanneverbe
controlled.Itsspontaneous.Itsmagical.Itsamystery.

Demetriuseyes.However,Oberonsinstructionwereverybroad,andRobinputthelovepotion
inthefirstmanhesaw,which,wasthewrongman.Ofcoursethiswasthecatalystofthe
confusionbetweenthelovers,inwhichLysandersaid,Helen,Ilovethee.Bymylife,Ido(Act
iii,Sc.ii).However,justadaybefore,LysanderlovedHermia.PoorHermialostherlove,
Lysander,toHelena,justbecauseofasimplemistake.Therefore,onelittlemistakecancreate
peopleclashingandfighting.Itcausespeopletocrashintoeachother.Whenacrashhappens,
piecesofbelongingsareflyingeverywhere.Itschaotic.Itisasimplyadisasteroneveryones
parts,becausesomeoneblamessomeoneelse,andthewholebecomestentimesmore
confused.Additional,sometimeswhenonethinksonefoundslove,butthenBOOM!Everything
isupsidedown.Itsunexpected.Nevertheless,lifeislikethatitsunexpectedandscary.Butlove
ispartoflifethereforeloveisequallyasunexpectedandscary.

ArrivingatyourDestination

Loveisntsomethingyoudirectlysearchforloveissomethingthatoneindirectlyfinds.

poorHelenalovesamanwhodoesntloveherback.AndaswhenRobinGoodfellowputsthe
lovepotionintheeyesofLysanderinsteadDemetrius,andcausedconfusionandargumentsin
betweenwhoactuallyloveswho.Despitetheallthenamecalling,everyonefinallyfoundhisor
herlove.Attheend,onefindstheirtruelove.Theyarriveattheirdestination.Allthesame,there

areupsanddownsintryingtofindlove.Onceonefoundlove,onenolongerneedstopursueit,
butonlyholdontoit.Andthatsanotherjourney.However,thejourneytolovemaybeajourney
thatoneisunaware.Loveisamystery,anditwillforeverbethatway.
