East of Berlin Wall was under EEC, which couldnt provide everyone with
enough a sufficient living; but, West of Iron Curtain had successful economy
Capitalist markets in many countries that previously had Communism
European Coal and Steel Community was created after Treaty of Paris and
ended in 2002, but it ensured equal spreading of resources throughout Europe
Gorbachev initiated Perestroika in Soviet Union; a restructuring of the
economy where there was more of an open policy reform and a market
economy, limited free enterprise, and some private property
Fundamentalists started to oppose Darwinian evolution and secularism. Also
opposed communism, abortion, and homosexuality.

Muslim extremists in Middle East began to rise to power to do things like Pan

High diversity in many states.
A more global civilization.
Soviet Union had so many ethnic groups there started to be conflict among
them in addition to nationalism and pride for ones ethnicity (before the
dissolution)
