Research Proposal
1. For my inquiry question I am researching whether or not honest, genuine, and loving
teachers have an impact in the lives of children that they teach?
2. My purpose for this project is to explore the impact that teachers can have on the lives of
the children that they have in their classroom. Areas that I will explore include studentteacher relationships as they relate to various teaching styles and philosophies. For
example, I will research in order to determine if student-teacher relationships have long
term effects or are they temporary in nature. My research will also explore which types of
classroom management techniques are most effective in building a positive studentteacher relationship.
3. My prior beliefs are that teachers can have a positive impact on the lives of their children.
Im basing my assumption on the fact that I have had several teachers in my own life that
have left very lasting impressions on me. For example, after watching how my fourth
grade teacher interacted and taught my class I knew that I wanted to be a teacher myself.
I have also watched teachers have a positive impact on my sisters life as well. When my
sister was younger she struggled with separation anxiety and her second grade teacher
was willing to work closely with my parents and use information from my sisters
counselor to help her in the classroom. Based on these situations I believe that my
research will support my preconception that teachers not only impact a child for one
school year but can actually impact them for a lifetime. As I continue my journey to

becoming an elementary education teacher I plan to focus on strategies that will allow me
to make lasting relationships with my students.

1) I think that at the top of every page, in the header, you are supposed to have your last
name followed by the page number in the upper right had corner. Also each part should
be numbered.
2) I think your topic was very well written. You gave a lot of detail and examples of what
you want to explore with your topic. Other than you need a header and the paragraphs
need to be numbered, the over proposal was written it very well.
