Human Rights and Global Justice

I am a German officer for commander Adolf Hitler.

The one who has brainwashed our minds to think
terrible things about The Jews. Often referencing
them as rats and a disgusting fungus that is
spreading over Germany. These Jews are my
neighbors, my friends, and now my sacrifices for a
greater mankind. I dont even know what the term
mankind references to anymore. The orders from
Hitler are the darkest evil I have seen man do. The
actions to be taken against the Jews will forever
haunt me in my sleep. The torture camps have only
one purpose. To kill off the Jewish descent for good.
The innocent man, woman, and child. Why do we
accept these brutal orders and still hold a
conscience? It is the power we fear. The power that
is used to strip others to being powerless. This fear
is not only used to control the Jewish population
but to control and brainwash all peoples involved
including myself. I feel powerless in my German
uniform as I walk over endless bodies of innocence.
But what can I do? It is only the power of kind men
who can truly stop the violence, though I have only
seen violence succeed so far. I shall pray in hopes
for one day to see a man who can see through
these evils and restore what will be left of mankind.
I believe we are all subjected to mind control in
some way. There is a comforting feeling about

going with the current than to proceed against it.

For me, my opinions associate with how others
might feel about them, and can be influenced or
altered accordingly to fit in with that person. In a
simple social experiment of people facing a certain
direction in an elevator can greatly influence one
person to face the same way and fit in to these so
called social norms. But when we discuss the
word genocide, we have to morally inhale whether
to proceed against the current or not. It should not
be an option anymore except to stop the acts of
violence from proceeding into a higher power
control as seen in Rwanda and the Holocaust. But
the fear of the word genocide also contributes to
our action. In the text, Never Again: The worlds
most unfulfilled promise, it is quoted about
American consensus that genocide is wrong has
not been accompanied by a willingness to stop or
even condemn the crime itself Pg. 300. It then
states that, the most common justification for
non-intervention is that, while leaving genocide
alone threatens no vital American interests,
suppressing it can threaten the lives of American
soldiers. Pg. 301. It is again the fear that lingers in
to control the mind and also the focus on what
interests we have there. We talked about
changing the focus in class and often the focus put
in the media about genocide enabled more fear for

citizens to go against the current, or in this case

send our troops over to take action.
