Dear Families;
Aloha! I hope you had an enjoyable summer. My name is Kendra Morita
and I am a teacher candidate at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Currently, I am working on my Bachelors degree in Elementary
Education. During the 2015-2016 school year, I will be working
alongside Ms. Park and your child on Wednesdays and Thursdays from
August until December and Mondays through Fridays from January to
May during the instructional day.
I want to show children that someone cares about them and wants to
help them reach their full potential. During my early elementary school
years, I struggled in school. If my family and my kindergarten teacher
were not there to guide me, then I know I would not be here today. Im
striving to be that teacher.
I was and am blessed with many opportunities to work with children
through babysitting, middle and high school ministry, Sunday school,
Big Brothers Big Sisters, and junior leader for YMCA. Last school year; I
was placed at two elementary schools in the fourth grade and
kindergarten. My experience included developing and implementing
lesson plans and assessments, and observing students learning.
My goal is to insure a safe environment where students are free to
express themselves and learn from each other. Together we will create
a sense of community in the classroom by encouraging students to
think of each others needs. I hope that this will one day be a habit for
them.
If you have any questions for me, please feel free to contact me. Thank
you for your time and I look forward to working with you and your
child.
Sincerely,

Kendra Morita, UHM Teacher Candidate
