The Cultivating Assessment Measures for my unit are based on individual lessons

throughout the unit. The assessment measures are as follows:

Climate Change:
Teacher evaluation as a form of summative assessment as the students are working
in pairs. The answers to their questions, as well as the vocabulary maps and exit
tickets serve as formative assessments for this particular task. Did students
understand the overall message about climate change? Were they able to think
critically to apply their daily tasks, make the personal connection to the issue at
hand and think of a possible solution?

Regions:
The note taking worksheet will be turned in to determine if students were
successfully comprehending the main ideas of the texts.
The exit tickets will determine if the students agree or disagree with the text.
The Linoit board comments to others will assess if they can successfully
make their own opinions after reading the texts.
The clarity and completion of the group Linoit posts will determine if students
can successfully use this technology platform.
Teacher observations will determine if students can work collaboratively.

Landforms:
Students will be graded on their landform models, based on the attached
rubric.
Students will be assessed as they show and explain their chosen models to
the class.
Students will be assessed on their descriptive paragraph based on the
accuracy of how well they followed the writing prompt to write a descriptive
paragraph.

Environment:

Students will be assessed on their ability to identify key text features, as well
as their ability to compare and contrast, by turning in their Movie vs Book
worksheet.
Students will be assessed on their ability to identify environmental
challenges, as well as their ability to form an opinion and justify it, through their
writing with the OREO opinion passage.

Weather Climates:
Students will be assessed on their ability to identify climates through the
activity of dressing the dolls to fit the weather in a particular area.
Students persuasive writing will be assessed through their travel agency
poster.
