Leadership Day
On Friday, May 6,2016 students will be celebrating how they found their wings in Fifth Grade.
Career Day
On Thursday, June 16,2016 we will have presentations on careers of the 21st century. If you are
interested in sharing your career with the 5th Grade students please contact me

Digital Research :
We are beginning a short research project that will use several sources to build knowledge about the Solar
System. In class students will choose from a choice board a way to represent the knowledge they have gained
.
We are also researching : How might the rights listed in the Bill of Rights be applied to everyday situations?
Student groups will create a poster with the number of their amendment, the amendment written in
their own words (student friendly language) and pictures to illustrate their amendment
Carmen Tafolla
After a month long study of Carmen Tafollas works students were treated to a special presentation by the
author herself. A gallery of students work was displayed in the multi-purpose room and will soon be feature at
Queens College.
Reading at Home
A way to help your child at home: Have your child tell you about the text they are reading. Discuss the
obstacles they come across and the effect they have. Make connections to overcoming everyday obstacles
within their lives. Ask questions to deepen your understanding of a non-fiction text

Da liderazgo
El viernes, mayo 6,2016 estudiantes estarn celebrando cmo encontraron sus "alas" en el quinto grado.
Da de Carreras
El jueves, de junio de 16,2016 tendremos presentaciones sobre carreras del siglo 21. Si usted est

Digital Research:
Estamos comenzando un proyecto de investigacin corto que va a utilizar varias fuentes para construir el
conocimiento sobre el sistema solar. En la clase de los estudiantes elegir entre una tabla de eleccin de una
forma de representar el conocimiento que han adquirido.
Tambin estamos investigando: Cmo podran los derechos enumerados en la Declaracin de Derechos
aplicarse a situaciones cotidianas? Los grupos de estudiantes crear un cartel con ... el nmero de su enmienda,
la enmienda por escrito con "sus propias palabras" (estudiante lenguaje amigable ") e imgenes para ilustrar
su modificacin
Carmen Tafolla
Despus de un largo mes de estudio a los estudiantes las obras de Carmen tafolla fueron invitados a una
presentacin especial por la propia autora. Una galera de trabajo de los estudiantes se muestra en el saln de
usos mltiples y pronto estar funcin en el Queens College.
Lectura en Casa
Una manera de ayudar a su hijo en casa: Haga que su nio le cuente sobre el texto que estn leyendo. Discutir
los obstculos que se cruzan y el efecto que tienen. Haga las conexiones a superar los obstculos cotidianos
dentro de sus vidas. Haga preguntas para profundizar su comprensin de un texto de no ficcin
