Drill Organisation

Warm Up- Four


Corner Passing

Throwing
Technique One

Two grids

1. Teacher splits class


into two even
teams, bibs and
non-bibs and
moves them into
two separate grids
2. Four students from
each team are
selected to be the
passers on the
inside of the
square, each facing
out to a side of the
square
3. The rest of the
team is to evenly
distribute
themselves to one
of the marked
corners of the
square
4. On the teachers
signal students will
run in a clockwise
formation from
corner to corner
receiving a rugby
pass and returning
it to the centre
passer
5. Runner joins the
next line and then
continues to do the
same around the
perimeter of the
square
6. Students should be
encouraged to
continue running
with the ball and
not stop to pass the
ball back, pass on
the run
7. Reverse the
direction of the ball
and rotate passers
through the centre
of the circle

allowed longer to
rest at each corner

1. In groups of four,
the ball starts on
the left hand side
2. Students run
forward from the
starting point, the
person in
possession of the
ball must sprint
ahead of the group
to pass backwards

3. Group members
must realign and
ball carrier must
run ahead to pass
down the line
4. Continue to pass
down the line to
the final runner
who sprints forward
and everyone else
in the line realigns
5. Continue drill from
ending position
back to starting

direction
