For my goal to seek opportunities to collaborate with faculty
across academic boundaries/related career fields, I sought to
collaborate with Adult and Continuing Education (ACE) in two areas: STEM Village workshops and a course development grant. I initiated contact with ACE in August of 2015 to learn more about the process and procedures for working with them to provide workshops. I began by contacting Dr. Diane Dingfelder, Executive Director of ACE, by email, and then met with her in person to discuss the process of working with ACE to offer workshops with clock hours for teachers. After this meeting, I worked with others in ACE to learn how to enter and submit workshops using Term Course Forms, and ultimately offered several workshops in collaboration with ACE.
In addition to workshops, I also sought a grant
from Adult and Continuing Education to fully develop the courses for the STEM Certificate. I submitted a proposal on October 1st 2016 for a Summer Session Innovation Grant to pay educators to completely develop the courses for the STEM Certificate. Unfortunately, my proposal was not selected to receive funding. There are two artifacts in support of this goal. Sample emails with ACE about workshops Summer Session Innovation Grant Application
