Fitchburg High School prepares students for post-secondary education and training in an
atmosphere of high expectations, strong support, and personal responsibility.

April 28th, 2016

To Whom It May Concern:
I am writing this letter on behalf of Tristen Scott who I believe would be a strong candidate for an
English teaching position. Tristen has been an academic paraprofessional/teacher here at FHS for the 20152016 school year. As such, she has more than demonstrated the ability to not only manage the responsibilities
of a classroom but also assimilate effectively into the culture of a school. Overall, she is hardworking,
reliable, intelligent, and is able to develop strong rapport with students. If given the opportunity I would
advise hiring her immediately.
Tristen Scott came to FHS half-way through the year to fill several key new roles. The school had
developed an English intervention course for freshmen and sophomores in addition to a workshop for students
enrolled in Advanced Placement courses. The courses were still being defined when Ms. Scott surfaced as the
most qualified and competent candidate. She immediately came in and established herself as a competent
educator. She established classroom protocols and set forth to immerse herself in the culture of the school and
English department in particular. Her assignment consists of seven sections ranging from the English, Etc.
courses which focus on addressing students with significant gaps in reading comprehension and writing skills
to the A.P. Learning Lab which seeks to provide an edge to those students enrolled in A.P. courses. Tristen
has done a tremendous job in working with this wide ranging and diverse population of students in all aspects
of what could entail. The students at Fitchburg High School are amazing; however, many do have unique
needs; as such, Ms. Scott has had to demonstrate flexibility and a sense of commitment to every task which is
essential to be successful in our school setting. She has done so seamlessly as she exhibits positive instincts
for the tasks required. What has impressed me the most is her willingness to not only establish very high
expectations but do so in a manner that helps each student reach for their own success. To illustrate further,
Ms. Scott has also been employed as a tutor for students who are unable to attend school for a variety of
reasons. She is extremely reliable and her ability to connect with even the most challenging student has made
her indispensable in this role.
Tristen Scott has the potential to be an exceptional teacher and tremendous faculty member. I
recommend her without hesitation. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me personally
at the email address or phone number listed below.
Sincerely,
Jeremy Roche
