1. Behavior
Together we will go over my classroom rules and we will create some of our own. You
will be expected to follow these rules and show respect to your teacher and classmates. At
the end of each class, please make sure your area is clean and your chair is pushed in.
2. Preparation
Materials:
Three clasp folder that will contain:
Interactive Note Book
Homework
Bell Ringers
Pencils
Planner
Colored pencils
Glue
Scissors
Start of the class: Every Monday you will come in and write down in your planner this
weeks homework and due dates. Every day when you come into class you will sit in
your seat and look on the board to see if there is a Bell Ringer. If a Bell Ringer is posted,
take out your INB and turn to your Bell Ringer page and solve the problem.
Extra Help: You can come in the mornings or stay after school. You can also talk with me
to schedule a certain time.
3. Grade Distribution
Homework 10%: Every day I will come around and check your homework. *
0 = Did not do it
= Tried, but did not complete it all or NO work shown
1 = Completed and showed ALL work
*When I collect folders to check and grade, if you fixed and completed your
homework, you can get half a point back.
Folder Grade (Classwork) 25%: After every Unit, I will collect your Interactive
Folders. You will get one point for everyday of notes completed and one point for each
bell ringer completed.

Additional Classwork 10%: This will be additional classwork, such as a worksheet

done in class that I will collect and grade.
Tests/Projects/Performance Assessment 35%: Tests will occur at the end of each Unit.
You will have the opportunity to retake your test on the planned retake day. Your two
scores will be averaged together. Projects and Performance Assessments will take place
occasionally in class.
Quizzes 20%: There will usually be one quiz before every unit test. In addition, there
will be a show work grade for the unit tests that count as a quiz grade.
Extra Credit: I do not believe in extra credit because it does not show your correct
mastery of the content. However, I allow test retakes. There will be a test retake day after
ever test. You have the option to retake the test. Both your scores will be averaged
together for your final score.
4. Grading Scale
A = 100 90
B = 89 80
C = 79 70
D = 69 65
F = 64 and below
5. Late Work: If you have an excused absent, you will not be penalized. However, you
must get me the work by the next day, unless I say otherwise. If you fail to turn in your
missing work, it will be marked as a zero.
6. Absences: YOU are responsible for make-up work!
1) Turn in any work that was due when you were absent
2) Check the Notes Basket for the notes that you missed.
i. There will be a basket with file hangers for each day of the month. Go to
the day that you were absent and take a copy of the notes.
3) Copy the notes into your Interactive Note Book
4) Complete the homework you missed and turn it in the next day
5) Check with me if you have any questions or need help understanding something
Please make sure that you follow these guidelines. If you stick to these policies, you will be very
successful in my class. You are responsible for your success in this class! Never be afraid to ask me any
questions. We are going to have a great year together and I am very excited to share this journey with
you!
