WHY TORTURE DOES NOT WORK
General Purpose: To persuade
Specific Purpose: To persuade you to gain understanding of how our government has
improperly violated the human rights of thousands in effort to garner unusable
intelligence to combat the war on terror, and to create a desire to become actively
engaged in the effort to thwart these illegal abuses
Introduction:
Capture:

I. I spent twenty-three years and 15 days fighting to protect the

rights and liberties of people around the world, yet somehow the
events of 9/11, 2001 created a moral shift enabling what I believed
to be true, right, and good to made nothing.

by watching as innocent people are being tortured and rendered for
often time useless and unactionable information in a bloated effort
to fight the war on terror.

simply sit with your head in the sand, and pretend people are not
being tortured at the hands of the American government?
