Reflection Questions

EPC 2901
Teaching Practice Booklet 2b

What do you think should be reflected in displays? Should it be the

teachers work or students? Why?
I believed that integrate the teachers woks and students in
displays are a great idea because it has many advantages
such as,
Display teachers work
Will help students to gain new vocabulary words, acquire
language and scaffold them while learning.
Display students work
Will make student proud about what they did, feel happy, motivated
and enjoyed. According to krashen who believed that when students
are happy, secure and safe this will open the knowledge door for
them therefore, they will motivate to learn.
Why is it important to include the childrens work on the display?
Displaying students works will send several messages for students.
First of all, the teacher value what we do. In addition, this is their
classroom as much as the teachers so, students can share their
works and learn from each other. Furthermore, students will look at
their work more frequently than teachers work or commercial
materials.
Are displays important teaching tools? Why ?
Yes. Displays have the ability to create a rich and supportive
environment where students can learn perfectly. In addition, displays
will aid and reinforce students to remember the knowledge quickly.
Furthermore, it will engage students and building the class
community and a means of creating a sense of ownership in the
classroom.
List some things you think the teacher should take into account when
making displays?
1. Include all the studnetswork.
2. Choose the right place
3. Put the pecies at eye level.
4. Get stundets involved while creating the displays(ask for input
from studnets)
5.Keep the displays fresh.

Write a paragraph discussing the following statement:

Effective classroom displays are the most powerful and
overlooked tools for teaching. (Clayton, 2001)
Creating fabulous displays are essential factors that lead to an attractive and
supportive environment for students because it has lots of advantages. First of
all, through the displays students can acquire and learn new vocabulary words.
In addition, it is the key to support students to construct their language and
knowledge. Furthermore, displays play a very important role to engage students
to learn because it has spectacular colors and this will lead to motivate them to
learn. Finally, it is very important to involve students in the process of making
the displays because this will give students a sense that their ideas and their
construction of meaning are important and worthy of being taken seriously.

Teaching Practice Booklet 2b

Rationale (Why do this display?)

Adjectives make the sentences more interesting and meaningful. Also, it allows
children to describe pictures so, they will gain new words and meaning" Use descriptive
words in sentences provide students with practice to try out new vocabulary words".
(Norman, 2016) . Therefore, they can use them to develop their writing and make it
more visual and vivid.
Resources needed
Sticks, printed papers about the adjectives , cardboard and adhesive.
Step by step Plan (How)
1. Print the papers about the adjectives.
2. Plan lesson about "adjective".
3. While teaching students bring a picture of popcorn, and give students chances
to describe the popcorn by using adjectives. Also, get them chances to stick it.
4. Give the students papers to write sentences about adjective.
5. Boost students woks on the display and the print papers.
Timeline (When)
1. On Sunday
2. On Monday
3. On Tuesday
4. On Wednesday.

Other(reflection)
Creating displays play a very important role to enhance students learning. In addition,
it leads to create a fabulous and enthusiastic environment. From planning and
designing the display I learned that having too much "stuff" on display can feel
overwhelming to students because they have no part in creating the displays. As a
result, I'm more convinced than ever that classroom displays should consist mostly of
work students have done themselves (along with a few essential informational pieces
such as class rules, anchor charts, definitions and reminders about classroom routines).
