The Structure

Baccalaureate Programs of Study

The semester internship supports the goal of Endicotts

four-year degree program. Students complete a structured
and professional experience that includes the following:
An internship field experience that is 14 weeks in
duration, depending on the academic calendar
Full-time involvement at the internship site, with
students returning to campus one day, every
week for required campus-based seminars
designed to integrate theory and practice
A setting that is directly relevant to the students
academic major
Supervision by an Endicott faculty member in the
students major area of study, including on-site
evaluation of performance
An individual Learning Agreement with specific goals
developed by the student in collaboration with the site
sponsor and faculty supervisor
Other Model: A distance internship with an online
seminar is an option for students completing an
international internship or an internship away from
campus. The seminar component of the course is
taught by Endicott faculty

Students earn 12 academic credits for the successful

completion of the semester internship course. Specific
requirements vary by major, though all students are
required to complete full-time field work throughout the
academic semester, to complete the Learning Agreement,
and to receive a formal evaluation by their site supervisor.
Some majors require students to draw on their internship
experiences in developing their senior thesis projects.

Over the years, sponsors have come to recognize the value
