Teaching the Desired Behaviors: To teach the desired behaviors I will demonstrate on task behavior and model
how a comment or question can further the discussion. I will ask that the students practice on task behaviors
several times and to explain what constitutes on task behavior. As a class we will review and practice on task
behaviors at the beginning of each class for a week after the plan has begun.
Teaching the Plan: After discussing the plan with the students I will show them the tickets and I will demonstrate
how I will distribute the tickets as on task behaviors are observed. I will model for the students what to do with the
tickets and how at the end of the day the tickets will be tallied at the bottom of the map allowing them to earn the
100 feet or inch of rail and telegraph lines. I will show the students the homemade telegraph and explain the
activity that they will be working toward.
Provide options: Each class will have a large poster labeled by class period on an easel. At each class period the
previous class poster will be placed in the back revealing the next class chart. Also each class will have its own
cup labeled with the class period on it for the tickets to be easily placed inside at the end of the class each day. This
Behavior plan can be altered to address different undesirable behaviors and promote other expected behaviors such
as being prepared and on time to class.
