Activities
Students will make a simplified version of
the mask, receiving individualized instruction
-Students will view a PowerPoint presentation about history of Venetian masks
-Students will complete guided notes that correspond with the PowerPoint presentation
-Students will choose 1 mask design to create and decorate
-Students will draw their mask with decoration design in their sketchbook
-Students will use the face forms and cover them in plastic wrap
-Students will use the modeling clay to create the shape of their mask
-Students will mix paper mache and brush it onto their mask
-Students will use paper towels to smooth the surface of their mask.
-Students will paint their mask decoration once the paper mache is completely dry
-Students will add other decorative materials such as metallic paint, feathers, etc to the
mask
-Students will attach 2 pieces of ribbon to their mask so it can be tied
