LessonObjectives:
StudentswillbeabletousebothtechnologyandknowledgeofFrenchto
begintocreateapresentationonafrancophonecountryoftheirchoosing,asamocktravel
agency.StudentswillbeusingPhotoshoptoproduceacreativevisualaspect,andtheywillbe
usingPowerpointasthemaintoolfortheirfinalpresentations.Thislessonwillfocuson
beginningtheirPowerpoint.

IntroducetheLearningActivity:
A. Studentswillbeexplainedthedirectionsfortheproject,therubric,andwhatisexpected
ofthem.Theywillalsobegivenexplicitdirectionsastowhatisexpectedofthemduring
todayslesson.Thiswillincludechoosingacountryofstudyandlettingmeknowwhich
onetheywillbepresenting.
B. Themotivatorofthislessonwillinformingstudentsthattheirfellowpeerswillultimately
bevotingonwhosecountrytheywouldmostliketovisitafterallpresentationsare
complete.Thewinnerwillreceiveextrapointsandasmallprize.Thislessonwillsetthe
sceneforwhattheirpresentationwillbelike,seeinghowproductivetheyareandhow
welltheyexercisetheircreativityonPowerpoint.


ProvideInformation:
A. Studentwillbegivenarubricandguidelinesforwhattheirprojectentails.Thiswill
includewhattheirfinalpresentationshouldinclude,adescriptionofwhattheir
Powerpointandvisualsshouldlooklike,andtheinformationtheyneedtopresent.

ProvidePractice:
A. Duringthislesson,studentswillchooseacountry.Oncetheircountryischosenand
approved,theywillopenPowerpoint,chooseatheme,beginlayingouttherequired
categories,andchoosingfont(s).
B. StudentswillbegintheirPowerpointpresentationsinclassindividually,andcan
collaborateforpotentialideas,oriftheyneedhelp.Projectmustbedoneindividually
though.

ProvideKnowledgeofResults:
A. Iwillbegivingstudentsverbalapprovalfortheirrespectivechosencountries,aswellas
theirprogressthroughoutthatdayslessonandthebeginningoftheirPowerpoint.
B. WrittenfeedbackwillbeprovidedwhenstudentssubmittheirPowerpointprogressona
biweeklybasisviaemailtome.Theywillbeprovidedaprogressiongradetwiceaweek
whichwillhelptheiroverallandfinalgrade.

ReviewtheActivity:
A. Iwillexplainwhatshouldhavebeencompleted,orclosetocompleted,bystudents
duringtodayslesson.Iwillremindthemthatbytheendofthenexttimewemeet,they
shouldemailmetheprogressoftheirproject,whichwillbeincorporatedintotheirgrade.
Iwillthenwaitforanyquestions,anddismisstheclass.

MethodofAssessment:
A. Iwillbewalkingaroundtoassesstheirwork,aspartoftheirgrade.Iwillbelookingfor
productivity,concentration,andexplorationwithPowerpointfortodayslesson.
