This artefact is a
lesson plan
designed for the
Kindergarten cohort
of 44 on my
previous practicum.
This lesson was
taught February
2016.

This lesson plan demonstrates


strategies for supporting student
engagement and participation.
Including 1,2, 3 Look at me, sh-shsssh, the Learning Stars Board and
the reinforcement of the 5Ls to
encourage appropriate listening.
Through planning this lesson I
considered the skills and abilities of
the students in this class and reflected
on the classroom management
strategies used before to determine
effective strategies to use for this
particular lesson.

The APST Standard 4.1 and


4.3 were met through the
varied classroom
management strategies to
support the engagement of
all students.
In my lesson feedback my
mentor teacher wrote: Best
management I have seen to
date. You are developing an
increasing range of
strategies, which you are
applying well.

The impact the planning and


preparation for this lesson has ensured
that I have created and selected
useful, appropriate and meaningful
resources to the concept of natural
and man-made.
This therefore affects student learning

Kindergarten students. I
developed an IWB page
containing the definitions of
natural and man-made as
well as discussion picture
