iMaths 4 Differentiation Tasks

MG7 Volume
With a partner, collect at least 10 cubes that are as many different colours as possible.
The dimensions of the cubes need to be 1 cm for each side.
Arrange the cubes as different 3D objects in as many different ways as you can. With a digital camera,
photograph five different cube constructions from a corner perspective. Ask your teacher to help with
this. (Look at page 115 in your iMaths 4 Student Book to see how the 3D photos should be taken.)
Using a digital projector, project the photographs onto a screen for the class to see. Ask your classmates
to estimate the number of cubes in each photograph. Then, ask them to estimate the volume of each
3D figure, and record their results in the table below.
Complete this table.
