Annotated Bibliography Reflection

I have expressed my understanding of the WPA outcome in my annotated bibliography. I

used critical thinking to analyze, evaluate, and interpret my sources on my paper about killer
whales and their behavior in wild life in comparison to captivity. Through my thorough analysis
of my sources, I was able to compose an annotated bibliography on my sources. Each source
served a specific point, and greatly attributed to a strong paper.
My first source was called Whale Facts. I found this source to be very helpful because
it helped me briefly understand the killer whales behavior. This source allowed me to understand
whether or not if killer whales were dangerous or not. This web page was extremely helpful
because it was not very biased, and it allowed me to get a good idea as to what I was typing
about.
My second source was A Look Into How Life For Captive Orcas Differs From Their
Wild Counterparts. The title says it all. This source was beneficial to me because it offered a
contrast between two different things. I favor using contrast because it gives you the perspective
from both sides, rather than one side. This sways the author (myself) away from favoritism, and
allows me to focus on the main topic without challenging the opposing view because I have both
sides on one source.
I would combine my third and fourth source together mostly because they are so similar.
Both of my sources are web page based and they both hold almost the same information. The
reason why I would choose two sources with almost identical information but different format is

because I wanted to make sure that my information was reliable and trustworthy. I did not want
to use only one page primarily because using two sources in comparison to just one is just more
potent and dependable overall.
My fifth and sixth source strays away from the ideas of opinions and facts, and I decided
to bring out a case that has recently happened here in the United States. I wanted to utilize the
effectiveness of an event that has happened, and cannot be deterred or challenged by opposing
views because it is an event that has taken place rather than theoretical or based on studies. The
case is about a killer whale that has been taken from its home and trapped in captivity. Both
sources explain thoroughly about the life the animal lives and how the brutal environment
affected his behavior. This is a useful source because it switches the perspective of the audience
to go from facts and opinions to a more personal, narrative aspect.
My last source was another comparison between wildlife killer whales and whales in
captivity. This source was chosen because it was an easy read, well organized, and exemplified
effective and reliable information. I used this source because it gave opinions from different
angles and additional information that I may not have acquired in previous sources.
