May, 2016

Greetings from Oaklake Trails Naturist Park!

This month, May, 2016, Oaklake Trails Naturist Park celebrates the 24th
Anniversary of our opening, on May 22, 1992. Whether you are among the original six
couples that started OLT, or just joined this month, you are part of a great organization we like to call the Oaklake Trails extended family.
Even as we continue to grow and expand our facilities, it is our members and guests
that make OLT what it is a beautiful, friendly, family oriented nudist park.
How time is spent at OLT is as varied as the demographics of the people here. We
strive to spread the word that social and family nude recreation is healthy, wholesome and just plain fun. And at the same time we rigorously work to maintain confidentiality and privacy. We welcome singles, couples and families alike.
We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, age, ethnic background, sexual preference or status out in the textile world. What we do here is often called the great
equalizer. As folks enjoy a nude volleyball game; a warm, inviting camp fire; a delicious potluck dinner; or just quiet time in the sun or shade, you really dont know or
care if the person next to you is an accountant, engineer, doctor, store clerk, homemaker, retiree or whatever we all share a common bond of enjoying social nude
recreation.
As we celebrate our 24th anniversary, we thank each and every person who has come
to the Trails to Experience the Freedom. We have extra special thanks for the
countless volunteers and employees of the park who work to keep OLT a safe, beautiful and inviting place.
We look forward to many more years of providing this experience, and we sincerely
hope you will be a part of it.
Thank You!

It is election time again for AANR. AANR members will be receiving ballots in their
May Bulletin for Officer and Trustee positions. Please take the time to vote in the
AANR elections. Regional convention is coming up at Oaklake Trails June 14-18, with

vote to count, please fill out a proxy vote for each AANR member and leave your vote
with Dennis in the office or current AANR Trustee, Brenda Spangler. Your proxy form
should be arriving in the mail shortly but copies may be gotten from Brenda or Dennis. Please make out your proxy form for a person attending the meeting. Thank
you for voting.

Happy Anniversary! OLT

"Digital Drama"
The latest data shows the majority of digital media consumption now takes place in mobile apps. Mobile digital media time in the US is now significantly higher at 51% compared to desktop (42%).
U.S. users are now spending the majority of their time consuming digital media within mobile applications, according to a new study released by comScore. That means mobile apps, including the number 1 most popular
app Facebook, eat up more of our time than desktop usage or mobile web surfing, accounting for 52% of the
time spent using digital media. Combined with mobile web, mobile usage as a whole accounts for 60% of time
spent, while desktop-based digital media consumption makes up the remaining 40%.
We desperately need the outdoors and time in the sun now more than ever! Cell phones and digital media is
taking more of our time, energy and attention.
This is one reason I love Oaklake Trails! I am thankful everyday for the opportunity to go outside in the nude,
feeling the warm sun on my entire body which is relaxing and definitely the best medicine for relieving the
"digital drama" blues.
Interesting internet facts:
Facebook, with over 500-million members, has added the ability for users to login and surf the site using a
more secure encrypted connection, known as HTTPS.
Facebook said in a blog post:
"Starting today we'll provide you with the ability to experience Facebook entirely over HTTPS. You should consider enabling this option if you frequently use Facebook from public Internet access points found at coffee
shops, airports, libraries or schools. In addition to the added encryption, Facebook said it will now also offer
"social authentication," a unique form of the traditional "captcha" coding, that will ask a user to identify Facebook friends from their photos.

Monarch Butterfly Beautiful and Majestic

Monarch butterflies (Danaus plexippus) perform annual migrations across
North America which have been called one of the most spectacular natural
phenomena in the world".
OLT

Starting in September and October, eastern/northeastern populations migrate from southern Canada and the United States to overwintering sites in
central Mexico where they arrive around November. They start the return
trip in March, arriving around July. No individual butterfly completes the
entire round trip; female monarchs lay eggs for the next generation during
the northward migration[2] and at least five generations are involved in the
annual cycle.

Thanks to research and enthusiasm of good friend and regular at OLT, Dick J,
we are encouraging residents to learn more about the monarch migration,
and enjoy the beauty of the monarch. We are planting (and protecting) the
milkweed plant on our property which the monarch uses to lay its eggs.

OLT GATE OPERATIONS

The Keyless Digital Entry System at the entrance to OLT enhances the security of the park and gives us a level of control. Even though, it
can be frustrating at times. The system is basically a good one. You have 40 seconds to enter your code, with a maximum of 8 seconds
between the four numbers. If you key the wrong number by accident, hit the star (*) button and this will reset and allow entry of the
entire correct 4 digit code. Too many incorrect attempts will temporarily lock you out for one full minute. Then you can key in the correct number. Once the gate is fully open, you have 15 seconds to enter, or at least break the plane of the electric eye, which will keep
the gate open indefinitely. Once the vehicle has cleared the electric eye, the gate will begin closing after a 15 second delay.
We can appreciate that 15 seconds is a very short or very long period of time, depending on your situation. We ask that if you open the
gate, you wait on either side of the gate, until it closes completely. This will reduce tail gaiting and unauthorized access to the park.

WORLD NAKED GARDENING DAY 1ST SATURDAY IN MAY

World Naked Gardening Day (WNGD) is an annual international event celebrated on the first
Saturday of May by gardeners and non-gardeners alike. According to NBC's Today News, WNGD
"has become an annual tradition that celebrates weeding, planting flowers and trimming
hedges in the buff. While its linked to a movement of nudists who promote wholesome and
unashamed acceptance of the human body, the day is meant to be funny, lighthearted and
non-political, founders say."
