214/Spirit Week
FLYING THE SPIRIT SKIES
“Fly the Spirit Skies” was the lofty
theme chosen for Spirit Week this
year. The first unique idea was to start
Spirit Week on a Wednesday and
carry it through to the following Tues-
day,
It all began on January 29. One day
the Challenger fell, the next day,
Bingham flew. Our course was set for
Mars. Thursday, we landed on Earth
in Dallas, Texas. As the weekend
neared, the traveling spirit took the
students to the beautiful islands of
Hawaii. The weather was nice, so we
stayed the weekend after the victory
game on Friday. Saturday night there
was a luau stomp that was a blast for
everyone who attended. Monday
morning came and we soon landed in
Rome,
Atlast, Spirit Week came to a close
and all travelers went home-but not
without the keen memories of the trip.
Perhaps nobody really went to exotic
Hawaii or far-off Mars, but we did
reach a place that was within our
limits: spirit of the greatest heights. It
was moments such as these that made
Bingham what it has been for ten
years at 104th.
