Probability is expressed as a number between 0 and 1.

It can be a fraction, decimal or percentage
Arrange the probability expressions:
likely, unlikely, certain, impossible, may, may
not, possible
on a number line, in a logical order, from 0 up to 1
Theoretical Probability Equally Likely Outcomes
P(A) = the probability that event A occurs
P (not A) = P(A) the probability that A does not occur
= 1 P(A)
Eg Using a fair sided dice. Sample space is 1, 2, 3, 4,
5, 6
P(3) = 1/6
P(3) = 5/6
P(less than 5) = 4/6

Expected number (of times X happens)

= Probability X happens x Total number of results
altogether

Games of Chance
Looking at what makes a game fair play the game
and determine whether it is fair or not.

Lists and Sample Space

Determine sample space using lists for combinations

Simple probability experiments

Tally tables use a tally mark to record each time a
result happens
Frequency the total number of tally marks recorded
for each different result
Experimental (or long-run) probability (that X happens)
