protect consumers in the
marketplace:
Fair Trading Act 1987
(NSW)
Trade Practices Act 1974
(Cwlth)

We Enforce these laws

What do these laws do?


These laws protect people against unconscionable
acts. This means that they are protected against
any practice that is unreasonable such as scams
and rip-offs.
These laws state it is unlawful to:
make false clams about a product or service
operate in a misleading or deceptive way that
might mislead or deceive your customers
take unfair advantage of vulnerable customers
unconscionable conduct.
