This article doesnt talk about how much foster parents get paid but where the money comes
from. The first thing to understand is that foster parents are not actually paid. They do, however,
receive reimbursement that is not taxable income. Monthly reimbursement is meant to be given
at the beginning of each new month for the previous month. However, it can take longer based
on each states individual system. For example, the reimbursement rate for children with special
needs will likely be higher than the basic rate in that state to help provide for the childs extra
needs. This article also talks about how far the money will go and real people experince with this
money. My first placement was with me for 2 and a half days (Hilton). Things we had already
purchased and had ready include a bed, bedding, extra clothing, towels, toiletries, and a car seat.
Also, we had upgraded to a minivan to be able to fit another child in our vehicle. All of that
money were ours not the agency and we only had the child for 72 hours .

Foster parents recurited from religous groups stayed involed as foster parents longer wanting to
make a difference in a childs life protecting him or her from harm and adderssing personal self actualization or religous needs were signifiacnt motivators for foster parents . Foster Parents are
special people. They possess the gift of being able to open their hearts and homes to children
who are in need of a safe, nurturing place to live, and when the time is right, letting them go so
they can continue the healing process.

Web. 17 Mar. 2016.
This article talks about the requirments to become a foster parent. Before a foster child is placed
with you, your home must meet certain basic standards. Your home must meet all state fire,
safety, and sanitary standards, and must have enough rooms and beds that you can provide a safe
and comfortable space for any child that you foster. Although this does not mean that each child
must have a separate bedroom, each child must have his or her own bed. After your application is
approved, most foster systems require that you participate in a training course. This course
should familiarize you with all aspects of the foster-care system, including those individuals-case workers, child advocates, and other agency representatives--that you may have to deal with,
as well as the legal aspects of foster parenting. Most states typically provide you with
information about the behaviors foster children may exhibit based on the circumstances that lead
to them being placed in foster care, and how you can handle common problems, such as acting
out, once a child is placed with you
