Review It!

Read these sentences. Use the Hint to help you draw a conclusion.

Marcus thought of everything for the

party. He worked really hard to put it
together for Keishas special day. When
Keisha arrived, she broke into a big smile.

Try It!

Hint Based on what you read and what you

already know, you can draw the conclusion
that Keisha is very happy with Marcus for
having planned a great party for her.

Read the following passage. As you read, underline sentences that help you draw
your conclusions.

The moon always looks different, but the moon itself does not really change. The moon
gives off no light of its own. The white light we see is sunlight that reflects off its surface.
When we see the moon in the sky, the lighted side is facing Earth.

The moon moves around Earth in a circle called an orbit. When you cant see the
moon, this is called a new moon. A new moon occurs when the sun and the moon
are on the same side of Earth. A full moon is seen when the sun and the moon are on
opposite sides of Earth.

See if you can spot the moon. Can you tell which phase it is in? Many websites can
show you how it will look each day of the year!
Now, use the passage to answer the questions on the following page.
