Aemergencyfixistodropafewplanksintothesuctionpit.Itpreventcircularflowandavortexfromforming.
Thissameideacanbefollowedbyplacingbafflesinthepit.

Theenergyoftheinletflowshouldalsobedissipatedotherwiseitmaycauseacircularmotion.
MrCoriolisshouldalsobebanned.

pipe,sothatwhenthevortexbreakerisassembled,itistoolargetopassintothetankoutletpipe.
Fastenthe"12"sidestogethersoastoformastructuresimilartotheheadofa3sidedarrow.

whatwecallvortexwhichallowsthesurfaceoftheliquidattheareaabovethenozzletobelowered(likeaconeitsbaseatthesurfaceof
theliquidanditsheadatthenozzle)untilgas/airinsidethevesseltransmittedthroughthatnozzlegoingwiththeliquid.Thisgas/airmixed
withtheliquidcausingacaseofbadoperationorcanreachtheimpellerofapumpwhichcausingtooabadoperationtothepump.The

vortexbreakeravoidsthatswirlingorvortexformation.

Thesameappliestosilosordeareatorswherethesuctionpointatdeareatorcreates
swirlingeffect(vortex).
Now,thisisharmfultopumpasittrapsairandcausescavitationinpump,sotobreaktheswirlinga
"vortexbreaker"isinstalledatthesuctionpoint(bottomofdeareator)...asshownintheimage..(see
