About Tegan Northwood
Sydney-based, Tegan is a singer,
songwriter, and soundscape artist. She
combines layers of her voice, guitars,
field recordings, and beats/electronic
instruments in her music
(endgamerecords.bandcamp.com).
She’s released three albums of her own
work.
Tegan currently teaches singing, and has
a background in sound healing, toning
and harmonic singing/overtoning. She
attended Jonathan Goldman’s Sound
Healing intensive in Colorado in 2009.
She has also trained and worked in land
management, and has worked with
nature directly in many environments
using Perelandra co-creative processes
(perelandra-ltd.com.au).
In 2008 Tegan visited the well-known
Findhorn community and participated in
their courses on nature
spirits/devas/elementals, power spots,
and energy lines within landscapes.
She also learned to dowse land at
Avebury.
My version of the Pillar of Light process
began in 2005, when I found myself living
on a power spot in the Illawarra (see
garden shot left). I was guided to
combine a number of elements from both
sound healing and lightworker practices –
using toning with harmonics to clear the
chakras, combined with a version of the
old ‘Pillar of Light’ energy meditation.
I’ve espescially felt the power of doing
this in natural power spots, both for
ourselves and the planet. In a group you
can multiply this and bring in a lot of
healing energy into the earth.
