Lesson Plan Evaluation & Teaching Reflection
Was the content worth knowing? Support your response.
Yes, the entire month we were learning about transportation, so this was a good way to test the
kids knowledge about transportation and where they travel.

Describe how the activity was developmentally appropriate.

It got the kids to visualize the categories in which the vehicles go, but also helps them create
mental categories for other things.
Give an example of how you know the activity was interesting to the children.
The kids love using their scissors and gluing, plus the prospect of playing a song for them
afterwards motivated them additionally.
Describe how the activity included opportunities for the children to test their knowledge.
I first let the kids place each vehicle in the category they thought it should go in, and then
corrected them in needed

Describe a follow up activity that would build on concepts you have presented.
A follow up that would help would to bring in physical representations of each vehicle, such as a
toy car, boat, and airplane to demonstrate how each travels

What behavior(s) did you observe while presenting the activity? What do you think caused
the behavior(s)?
All the children were well-behaved and did their diligently.
How did you involve the children in the closure of the activity?
I made them recite what they had done (i.e. car goes on land), and made them help clean up
before moving on
Describe what changes you would make and what you would keep the same if you
presented the activity again.
I would bring in the toys the next day and make this activity a two part thing so it could really instill
itself into the students minds.
