Come Lord Jesus

Come, Lord Jesus

Being a Christian is not easy, even though our lives are guided and led by the Lord, our
flesh struggles with mundane situations and problems that we allow those things affect and
effect in us.
This chapter reflects the battle among Christians who believe in Christianity as a
religion, with a dressing code, a temple style and a priest model. And little deep into what
intimacy and sanctification really means. Kulp (1999) says that Protestantism is as a cup
that it is filled only when God is manifested in an specific person and the generations that
come after do not hesitate to seek that same manifestation, rather they prefer to learn from
that past experience, which is not wrong, but as Christians we must firmly have intimacy
with God and ask Him for a revival. Therefore, I am able to spread the gospel and fulfill the
great commission. (Matt. 28: 16 20).
I can relate this situation when I rely on the experiences my parents had with God,
and I used to say to myself that I was saved because of my parents. Which is NOT true. I
then, learn to seek my own salvation and repentance from my sins; I learned that God has
promises and a personal purpose for my life as well.
Nowadays, it is easy to dilute with so many movements that claim to be centered in
God, rather they are just superficial rituals and vain congregations that gather to blind
others and not be the light in this world.
Many Americans identify themselves as Christians. The values of Christianity
closely mirror the values of liberalism that this nation was founded upon. However,
there is another movement in this nation, which I refer to as Christianism. The term
is derived from "Islamist" -- or those people who claimed to be followers of Islam,

but are nothing more than terrorists who do not follow the principles of Islam.
There are those "Christians" who do not seem to be following the principles of
Christianity -- thus the term "Christianist". (Slidge, 2004)
This is a clear example of how corrupted and misled the society is. This world needs
a revelation and a revival. God is the answer to all our problems and lacks. Therefore, after
reading this chapter, I find myself encourage to be the light in this world, to be the salt that
this world needs, to allow myself be used by the Holy Spirit and fulfill the glorious purpose
God has for my life.
